alpenvereinaktiv: Frequently Asked Questions
Which tier do skiers need?
Ski tourers generally need the Pro tier of alpenvereinaktiv, priced at EUR 29.99 per year on 15 September 2026, because that level adds winter map material and the current avalanche bulletins. The free tier still allows unlimited route planning.
What is the difference between Pro and Pro+?
Price and map rights. Pro costs EUR 29.99 per year; Pro+ costs EUR 59.99, or EUR 49.99 for alpine club members, and it is the tier non-members need if they want the Alpenverein map inside alpenvereinaktiv.
Does it work in English?
Partly. The alpenvereinaktiv subscription also unlocks Outdooractive, which is offered in English and other languages with largely the same features, so English-speaking users often plan in Outdooractive and keep the alpine club maps.
Is it a piste app?
Not really. alpenvereinaktiv is built for tours away from lifts, with route descriptions, topographic maps, and avalanche information, so skiers who stay on marked runs are better served by a resort app or a snow report portal.
Can club members get a discount?
Yes. Members quoting their membership number get the alpine club maps included at the Pro level, and Pro+ drops from EUR 59.99 to EUR 49.99 per year, as listed by alpenvereinaktiv on 15 September 2026.
