Tiroler Alpin-Ski School: Frequently Asked Questions
Who teaches the lessons?
Every lesson at Tiroler Alpin-Ski School is taught by Gerald Kurz, a state-certified ski instructor and ski guide since 1994 who began his training in 1990. There is no instructor pool, so the person you book is the person on the hill.
Is it a good choice for families?
Tiroler Alpin-Ski School lists families among its target groups and teaches beginners on the wide lower slopes of the Ischgl ski arena. Parents who also want non-skiing childcare need the village school's kindergarten instead, which takes children from age 2.
Does it cover off-piste?
Tiroler Alpin-Ski School guides ski tours in the Silvretta range as well as teaching technique on the resort's 200 plus kilometres of pistes. Touring equipment is the client's responsibility unless agreed otherwise at booking.
How much does it cost?
Tiroler Alpin-Ski School does not publish a rate card in the Ischgl tourist board directory, so pricing comes by enquiry. Village benchmarks in September 2026 were EUR 115 for a private adult lesson and EUR 422 for a guide for a full day.
How does it compare with the Silvretta Guides collective?
Tiroler Alpin-Ski School is a single registered instructor working under his own name, while Silvretta Guides is a multi-partner booking brand spanning four Paznaun villages. The choice is continuity with one teacher versus broader availability.
