Best Salzburg Ski Passes: Super Ski Card Ranked

As of September 2026, the Salzburg Super Ski Card is sold as the SuperSkiCard and ranks first for coverage: 2,843 piste kilometres and 938 lifts in the 2025/26 listing, valid 10 October 2026 to 2 May 2027. Only four network passes genuinely cover Salzburg areas, so the field below is short rather than padded. Ski amade, the Ski ALPIN CARD and Dachstein West follow.

What does the Salzburg Super Ski Card actually cover?

The ticket most people search for as the Salzburg Super Ski Card is sold today as the SuperSkiCard. It exists because the Salzburg Super Ski Card and the Kitzbueheler Alpen AllStarCard were merged for the 2016/17 season, creating one ticket across two countries and six federal states. For winter 2026/27 the Premium version is valid from 10 October 2026 to 2 May 2027, about seven months of possible ski days.

The 2025/26 press figures list 23 ski regions, 88 ski resorts, 2,843 kilometres of piste, 938 lifts and 814 huts in Salzburg, Tyrol, Carinthia, Upper Austria, Styria and Bavaria. Member resorts publishing 2026/27 details quote 22 regions and 87 resorts, more than 2,800 kilometres and over 900 lifts. Important caveat: these areas are not one linked ski circus. You drive or take the ski bus between them, so a Salzburg base such as Zell am See, Flachau or Saalbach still defines most of your week.

How much does the SuperSkiCard cost and when is it cheapest?

In 2025/26 the SuperSkiCard Premium cost EUR 999 for adults in the early-buyer period and EUR 1,145 from 5 December 2025. Under-25s paid EUR 858, youth EUR 733 (EUR 858 afterwards) and children EUR 483 (EUR 572 afterwards). Families buying Premium cards for their two eldest children got further children born 2007 or later free, but only at lift office tills with proof of family allowance.

The buying calendar repeats each autumn. Sale for 2026/27 opens on 28 September 2026 in the online shop and at the ski areas, and the Bruendl Sports counter at Designer Outlet Salzburg sells presale-price cards up to and including 3 December 2026. Budget a KeyCard deposit of EUR 2.00 to EUR 5.00, refundable when you return an undamaged card. At the presale rate, the 15 guaranteed Premium days work out at roughly EUR 67 per day, and the network members voluntarily allow use beyond those 15 days.

How do you decide between a season card and a week pass?

  1. Count your realistic ski days

Start with days, not kilometres. The SuperSkiCard Premium guarantees 15 days between 10 October 2026 and 2 May 2027, so at the 2025/26 presale rate of EUR 999 you are paying about EUR 67 per guaranteed day before the voluntary extra days are counted. If your winter holds six or seven days, a 6-day or 7-day ticket almost always wins on cash. If you live within a two-hour drive of Zell am See, Flachau or Saalbach and ski most weekends, the season card flips to being cheaper.

  2. Check how many regions you will really visit

The SuperSkiCard spans 22 regions for 2026/27, yet most guests ski two or three of them. Ski amade already gives 760 kilometres and 25 resorts inside five regions, and its multi-day tickets from 2 to 18 days are valid across the whole network. The Ski ALPIN CARD covers 408 kilometres across Saalbach, the Schmittenhoehe and the Kitzsteinhorn. Draw your driving radius first, then buy the smallest pass that covers it.

  3. Book before the presale deadline

Deadlines move the price more than anything else. SuperSkiCard sales open on 28 September 2026 and presale rates hold to 3 December 2026. Ski amade opened day and multi-day sales on 31 August with an online early booking bonus, and its season tickets go on sale from the start of October. Ski amade prices also move with season, purchase date and demand, so a late booking can cost noticeably more for the same week.

  4. Match the pass to your travel dates

Timing decides whether wide validity is worth paying for. October and early May skiing depends on glacier terrain: the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun is scheduled to open on 10 October 2026, snow permitting. A February half-term week needs neither a 2,843-kilometre network nor a seven-month validity window. Peak-season dates matter too: the 2026/27 calendar in the Kitzbuehel Alps runs peak season from 19 December 2026 to 12 March 2027, with cheaper shoulder rates either side.

  5. Order online and keep the KeyCard

Buy through the operator shop rather than at the queue. SuperSkiCard season tickets and the 10-day flexible ticket can be ordered online and posted out, and an existing KeyCard can be topped up with its card number. Ski amade charges a EUR 3.00 keycard deposit and lets returning customers reactivate last year's card postage free. Photos are required for Premium cards, the 10-day flexi ticket and passes of 8 days or more.

What do buyers get wrong about the Salzburg Super Ski Card?

The first mistake is expecting one giant linked ski area. The SuperSkiCard is a ticket alliance of separate areas, so those 2,800-plus kilometres are only reachable with a car or train, and driving from Kaprun to Riesneralm eats a morning.

The second is the day-ticket trap. In Ski amade, passes valid for up to one day apply the local resort rate and are limited to that regional ski area, while only tickets of two days or more open all 25 resorts and 760 kilometres. Multi-day lift tickets also run on consecutive days, with no interruption allowed.

Third, these passes are personal. Cards are non-transferable, proof of age is needed for youth and child rates (children born 2011 to 2020 and youth born 2008 to 2010 in the 2026/27 Kitzbuehel Alps listing), and a photo is stored at the ticket office for passes from 8 days. Lending your season card to a friend voids it.

Which pass makes sense if you only ski one week in Salzburg?

For a single week, buy regional. A Ski amade multi-day ticket between 2 and 18 days covers 760 kilometres, 260 lifts and 25 resorts from Flachau across to Schladming, Gastein, Hochkoenig and Grossarltal, which is more terrain than most people ski in seven days.

If your base is Zell am See, Kaprun or Saalbach, the Ski ALPIN CARD is the natural choice: 408 kilometres, up to 121 lifts, free ski buses in Saalbach Hinterglemm, Viehhofen, Leogang, Fieberbrunn, Zell am See and Kaprun, and a EUR 15.00 Saturday ticket for anyone under 19. Epic Pass holders already have five days in that network from winter 2025/26.

On a tighter budget, or with young children, Dachstein West sells a season pass covering 160 kilometres across eight areas including Krippenstein, Feuerkogel and Werfenweng, with 2026/27 prices already published and a EUR 2.00 keycard deposit.
