Best in Austria Lower Austria
Lower Austria (Niederösterreich) is Austria's largest federal state by area and surrounds Vienna on three sides. Its alpine south and west include the Ybbstaler Alps, the Ötscher massif and the Wechsel and Semmering ranges. Winter sport here is concentrated in roughly 20 small ski areas that together hold about 200 km of piste and around 100 lifts.
